A short train/ bus ride and you are in the Bras Basah area, full of learning, art and history. Follow your guide through the under-ground passage that leads through the basement of the Singapore Management University – the only university in Singapore that has a city campus – to the National Museum of Singapore. After a short introduction to the museum make your way to Fort Canning Park.
Nestled on the slops of a hill Fort Canning Park is a treasure trove of historical site and interesting stories. Former Cemeteries, Spice Gardens and archaeological digs, Instagram-able sights and quiet spots along a walkway in the park.
Find out about spices and their use, why they are so important to Singapore, hear the story of Sir Stamford Raffles and the founding of modern Singapore 200 years ago and make the connections from the past to the present with a peek into the future. The tour ends along the Singapore River at Clarke Quay.
