Private & Thematic Trail

The Little Red Dot holds a treasure trove of stories that showcase not just where Singaporeans as a people came from but highlights how limitations, constraints and obstacles were turned into the driving force for creativity and innovations pushing the  limits of our ability.

One of the smallest countries in the world, Singapore is also a mosaic of four main communities and ten different religions, each contributing to a rich tapestry of customs and traditions. Remarkably, this diversity equates to harmony and peaceful coexistence.

  • Unity in Diversity -This Is Us!

Cultural and religious diversity is evident in many parts of Singapore, nothing new, but it’s the secret to Singapore’s success! Our trail brings you to one of those areas giving you the opportunity to see and explore!

Discover the Bencoolen Mosque, one of Singapore's oldest and a unique sight to behold. Visit the minority Jewish community and learn about Judaism at Maghain Aboth Synagogue. The Catholic faith is present in many churches in the area, including the Church of St. Joseph.

Hindus and Buddhists found their way into the same area, establishing places of worship that served not only their communities but everyone in need of help. All this can be seen and explored along the street that is also home to the Waterloo Street Arts Belt, where beautifully restored pre-war bungalows now house local arts organizations.

So, you want to know how it works, how its possible? Join us on this trail!

  • Trails into Our Heartlands

Singapore is a unique city where the new and old co-exist - and taking a closer look at the history of Singapore’s heartlands brins you into the heart of the city.

Heartland’ refers to areas beyond the city centre, outside of the Central Area. Populated mostly by public housing, they are self-sufficient housing estates completed with amenities ranging from schools, shops, markets, cinemas, stadiums, shopping malls and places of worship. Beyond their functionalities, these housing estates are also rich in social memories thus allowing us to obtain an invaluable part of Singapore history less seen in the mainstream historical narrative. Toa Payoh is well-know as the home of HDB and a unique central area; Queenstown showcases how well old and new harmonises having HDB block of flats from 4 different time phases and Ang Mo Kio boosts plenty of greenery. Choose one of these estates and immerse your self
